Yashwanth Lagisetty, MD, PhD
Biography
Dr. Lagisetty joined the psychiatry residency and Research Training Program at Brown University from the University of Texas McGovern Medical School’s Medical Scientist Training Program, where he studied bioinformatics and computational biology under Dr. Olivier Lichtarge, MD, PhD. During his PhD research, he developed novel models of gene-gene interactions to identify candidate genes of neuropsychiatric diseases. Following his PhD, Dr. Lagisetty completed a postdoctoral training year in the lab of Dr. Ankit Patel, PhD, where he worked on understanding he inductive bias of gene regulatory network evolution. As a resident, he is working with Dr. Michael Frank, PhD to develop and probe in silico models of learning to better understand how the brain itself might implement and represent learning.
