Yes, we only accept applications submitted through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS).

We consider each application on an individual basis. However, the length of time away from clinical practice is considered important (less than five (5) years is preferred).

We would like to know a bit about your academic interests, experiences, and goals. It would be helpful to know your reasons for choosing the field of psychiatry.

A passing score is required.

You do not need your Step 2 CK on hand before being invited for an interview. You must have passed Step 2 CK and have your scores submitted through ERAS, prior to being ranked by our program.

We begin reviewing applications after the ERAS post office opens. Candidates are selected and interviews are offered beginning in mid-October for interview slots that take place October through December. We continue reviewing applications and inviting candidates until all interview slots have been filled.

We require passing scores for both COMLEX and USMLE exams.

No, there is only one NRMP match number for Brown. All medical students use the same ERAS application to apply to the residency at Brown.

No, all of our PGY-1 positions will be filled through the National Residency Matching Program (NRMP).
