Julia Brekke-Riedl, MD, PhD
Biography
Dr. Brekke-Riedl joined the residency and Research Training Program from the University of Minnesota Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) in Minneapolis, MN where she completed her PhD in immunology. Her research focused on understanding immunological properties of stem cell therapies for the genetic skin disorder epidermolysis bullosa. Her training was funded by a Future Physician Scientist Award from the Rheumatology Research Foundation. Dr. Brekke-Riedl has authored 10+ publications and has presented her work at national and international conferences including the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. Additionally, she enjoys medical storytelling and prose writing, publishing "Role Reversal" in JAMA Piece of My Mind. As an RTP resident, she is working with Dr. Laura Stroud PhD.
